About me

A lens forged where situations resist simple answers

For more than 35 years, I have worked with leaders, teams, and institutions in Canada and internationally — inside and alongside governments, parliaments, cooperation organizations, NGOs, and teams engaged in demanding transformations, notably in West Africa, North Africa, India, Haiti, and Canada.

These settings taught me to read the gap between official structure and real operation: who decides, who influences, what is said, what stays unspoken, the rules people invoke and the ones that actually govern action. They also taught me that you do not durably transform an organization against the very people who will have to live the change.

My work sits at the intersection of leadership, governance, conflict, and negotiation — but what sets it apart is the scale at which I read power. I advise a leader or an institution with the eye of someone who studies how states hold or give way: legitimacy, real authority, the capacity to act. I carry that lens further in my writing — Ordre mondial 2.0 and the Voir juste newsletter — where I examine power, decision-making, and world order without being captured by either camp.

Training in administration, international development, organizational transformation, and conflict studies supports this practice. Expertise in non-verbal communication and the reading of weak signals sharpens it. But the core comes from the field: decades spent observing what makes an institution hold, a team divide, a leader keep or lose room to manoeuvre, and a reform become — or fail to become — a practice.
