Your posture speaks BEFORE you do

We often talk about communication. But the body communicates before words .
In a meeting, one-on-one, or even on video...your posture says a lot about your intention , your internal security , your relationship to power .
And what you send back can:✔ reassure,✔ defuse,✔ invite cooperation…or on the contrary, create distance, even mistrust.
🎯 Here are three adjustments for you:
🔹 1. Ground your feet. This sounds trivial. But a physically unstable leader is often perceived as insecure. A grounded body is a mind that aligns.
💡 Test : Feel your support before speaking. Even a micro-adjustment can change your perceived authority.
🔹 2. Relax your jaw and shoulders. When we want to "do well," we tense up. But this contraction is (unconsciously) interpreted as stress or control.
💡 Test : Exhale slowly before answering a difficult question. Your posture will adjust effortlessly.
🔹 3. Face the torso toward the person. This micro-gesture signals that you are there, fully. Not in your notes. Nor in the rest of the meeting. Here, now.
💡 Test: When video chatting, position your camera slightly in the center. This gives the impression that you are "present," even from a distance.
🎯 Leadership isn't just about words. It's about creating a climate —even before you speak.
And it starts with how we stand.
